Bartjes District
‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands - May 2009

The Bartjes district which is located near the city centre of ‘s-Hertogenbosch was known for its violence and so called antisocial behaviour. In order to refute this prejudice, I visited this neighbourhood to only discover hospitality, warmth and a strong interrelation between family and friends. During summer months they create their own campsite in the streets and everybody, even strangers like me are more than welcome to join.
